A historic cooperative nestled in a quiet corner of downtown Manhattan, the Amalgamated Dwellings was created for its residents by its residents. The communal tradition imbues every aspect of this classic sanctuary, which lies adjacent to, yet insulated from, the most dynamic neighborhood in New York City. The Amalgamated harkens to Old New York and Europe with a private garden courtyard, a centerpiece fountain and Art Deco flourishes. Living in a neighborhood within a neighborhood, our residents find the privacy and the peace they need, and the community they seek.

Our historic building has a variety of locations that film and television productions have utilized to depict varied stories from classic New York to Europe. Productions featuring Amalgamated include Crossing Delancey, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, The Andy Milonakis Show, Law & Order, Law & Order: SVU, and various commercials.
